The other day, I was just informed that Wang Xiaobo's articles and novels were prevalently acclaimed only after his death. Indeed, in my opinion, every readers of his works can be profoundly astonished by his wisdom and clairboyance, yet, having not stood up to express such astonishment before his ultimate death, the presentation of which lead to my following thought.
People usually have two polar attitudes towards a celebrated contemporary- to criticize ruthlessly or to applaud lavishly, and both of them can be considered out of self-protection, since these two treatments will apparently differentiate oneself from the luminary, into disparate classifications. This kind of subjective division can effectively avoid comparison between people, and fortunately, no comparison, no way to distinguish the superior and inferior one.
This immanent elusion from comparison, however, should be constrained with conscience, for it will obstruct the original power of human beings' development--competition. Consequently,in this sense, no behavior or statement derived from envy or negative sentiment should be committed to others' feats. We should treat the world in an equal eye, never being opaque by iniquitous thought.

Eagles flew again

Plato’s “The Allegory of the Cave”

These days, there are plenty of reports on mainstream German media, about the violent riot in China’s Xinjiang autonomous region, which makes it no better time to discuss the allegory of the cave from Plato.

However, an old Chinese saying goes like this: Outsiders can perceive the situation more clearly. I have to say the cave allegory is also happening in Germany right now, which is why I brought up the reports about the riot in Xingjiang at the beginning. Videos on foreign websites like Youtube and countless pictures from different media show the truth, but the mainstream media in Germany, like Der Spiegel, Die Deutsche Welle, keep reporting the “truth” got from Uyghur Congress. Though out of responsiveness, they use the words like “as they said (Uyghur Congress)”, this cannot reduce the influence of these false news, because the only information people can get are these invalid news. With thousands of times of repetition, (本想把纳粹宣传部长的名言拿来一用,想想不要做得太绝,就算了,只用一半) people get used to it, and collectively form a faked image of Chinese government and the way they dispose. Probably in a short run, such “carelessness” would not cause serious results, but in a long run, this is not a correct way to inform people, especially for influential media. This last paragraph seems not to be related to the topic very much. Nevertheless, in my opinion, as an ultimate goal, philosophy is supposed to enlighten and guide people to do the right thing and do it right. To connect the reality to the allegory should be necessary and beneficial, and let the theory produce the most.
